Nicolas Carrega, Painter, Sculptor, Engraver, Medalist, was born on February 21, 1914 in Bonifacio, Corsica, and died on January 29, 1993 in Versailles. His life was divided between the Mediterranean and the English Channel. These two poles of attraction would be a constant source of inspiration and creativity for all his work. Figurative until the end of the 1950s, he gradually evolved towards abstraction. He participated in the largest exhibitions, of which he was often a member, and regularly presented his works in private exhibitions in France and abroad. Several of his works are preserved in museums.
