Precious large in 4 of Architecture illustrated with plates by Mr Belidor, Ordinary Commissioner of Artillery, Royal Professor of Mathematics at the Schools of the same Corps, member of the Royal Academies of Sciences of England & Prussia, Correspondent of that of Paris: "The Science of Engineers in the conduct of works of Fortification and Civil Architecture". Work dedicated to the King. Printed in Paris, at Claude Jombert, rue Saint-Jacques, at the corner of rue des Mathurins at the Image Nôtre-Dame. M. DCC. XXIX. (1729). Copy in full glazed tinted calf, ribbed spine decorated with gilt irons in the compartments, garnet morocco title, marbled endpapers with red edges, two-tone title, beautiful frontispiece by Rigaud and numerous beautiful plates for this rare copy in this original condition (youth of Louis XV).
