"Pair Of Oriental Enamelled Glass Lamps, Attributed To Philippe-joseph Brocard, Paris."
A pair of green, mass-dyed blown glass mosque lamps, executed in the Mamluk style. Each lamp features a globular body topped with a flared conical neck and rests on a curved pedestal. The rich and delicate decoration consists of gilded foliage and palmette motifs covering the green enameled surface, punctuated by six looped handles integrated into reserves. Signed under the body, these pieces embody all the refinement of late 19th-century Parisian Orientalism, in the tradition of the works of Philippe-Joseph Brocard.
