Lithograph By Henri Rivière The Sunset

This lithograph “Les Aspects de la Nature - Le Coucher du Soleil” is signed Henri Rivière and bears a red stamp at the bottom left, the publisher's stamp at the bottom right. The work is authentic and old. For the condition, note in the margin small ink lines, traces of folding, small stains and slightly chipped corners. On the litho, we note small brown and white spots (lack of color). The lithograph is very fresh in color, once framed most of the defects will be barely visible. Sold as presented. Henri Rivière (1864-1951) is a French painter, engraver and illustrator. He began his career with drawing and then with intaglio engraving, specifically etching in 1882. At the same time, he began a career as a director and scenographer in 1886, from the shadow theater to the Chat Noir cabaret, shows that he improved by creating very innovative color sets. He then devoted himself exclusively to painting and engraving and established himself in the history of etching, printmaking, woodcuts, lithography and watercolor (he painted around a thousand watercolors).
