A tortoiseshell snuffbox from the Empire period, clearly inspired by neoclassicism. The ivory plate features a depiction of the goddess Athena, framed in 18-karat gold. Inside is a watercolor print of Eros and Aphrodite. Late 18th/early 19th century.
