Large Knoll table by Warren Platner. Nickel-plated steel base and 135 cm glass top. This table is perfect for seating six. It is in perfect condition and has no defects. This piece is obviously authentic and original. Year of creation: 1966 Warren Platner's approach to bent steel wire furniture contrasts with that of Bertoia, both in method and purpose. Warren Platner's initial idea was based on the need for a design that was "decorative, cozy, and graceful." Comparable to that of the Louis XV period but based on more rational foundations. Warren Platner's "sculpted" steel wire chairs and tables marked the arrival of design in industrial production. Yet, the collection is characterized by the qualities of his custom furniture: unity, ingenuity, and attention to the smallest detail in form and manufacture. "We are trying to give birth to a classic," acknowledges Warren Platner. "A classic is something you look at often and always accept as it is... without finding any possible improvement."
