- The interest of this work is not its state of conservation, but rather its content - besides the photos which show these different defects, we add that a previous owner added personal notes - thin handwritten leaves at the beginning of the book, two leaves - those with the red figures - between pages 138 and 139, then a few leaves at the end -- observing the state of the covers, the interior is not so bad after all - - divided into 4 books / chapters, on 243 pages, followed by the Traité des Fortifications of 119 pages, then the Traité Particulier on 37 pages -- with many in-text engravings in the Traité des Fortifications, an excellent and rare work which was surely part of Mr. Vauban's library -
