Rare pair of Gothic patinated bronze candlesticks, finely cast in the shape of stylized deer. Each animal carries a central shaft serving as a candle holder. Probably German work, attributable to the Nuremberg region, around the 14th century. Comparable models are preserved in several European museum collections, testifying to the animal iconography specific to Gothic goldsmithing. Very good condition of preservation considering the period. Beautiful old patina. Dimensions: 12 x 6 x 12 cm. Rare and decorative pieces, of great interest to lovers of medieval art.
