Antique seafood set dating from 1959. Creation of the ceramist Pol Chambost. Consists of 10 shell-decorated plates, two serving dishes and a very large earthenware dish. Very beautiful colors and material effects. All pieces are signed. The plates measure 27cm in diameter. The dish measures 46cm in diameter. All pieces are in perfect condition. Pol Chambost (1906–1983) – French ceramist and sculptor, emblematic of 1950s design Pol Chambost was a major figure in 20th-century French ceramics. Trained in sculpture, he turned to ceramics in the 1930s and quickly developed a unique style, at the crossroads of decorative art and design. His creations, often inspired by the human body, are distinguished by their organic, sensual and sometimes daringly asymmetrical lines. Active until the 1970s, he successfully blended artisanal expertise with formal modernity. Signed "Pol Chambost," his works combine elegance, innovation, and expressiveness. They perfectly embody the spirit of the Trente Glorieuses and the post-war artistic revival.
