Superb Napoleon III period writing desk, Transition style, in rosewood veneer enhanced by rosewood and light wood marquetry with floral decoration. It is organized into four drawers with exposed crosspieces and a central flap revealing a niche and three drawers. The flap, covered in new red leather decorated with a cold-stamped vignette and an elegant central gilded motif, combines writing comfort and aesthetic prestige. The curved uprights and legs are enhanced with finely chiseled bronze trim and fittings, while a bronze ornament highlights the lower crosspiece of the piece. The whole is crowned with a royal red marble, which gracefully follows the curved lines of the piece. All the locks are original, perfectly functional, accompanied by superb ornate entries and finely crafted keys.
