Version:1.0 StartHTML:0000000167 EndHTML:0000001783 StartFragment:0000000454 EndFragment:0000001767 Born in Burgundy, this earthenware factory began by making tiles then, after its acquisition by the Charbonnier brothers in 1868, it moved towards the production of finer ceramics and then towards the production of slips demanded by the great hours of gastronomy and decoration, fond of realistic and richly colored objects, at the end of the century. Oriented towards the implementation of presentation pieces such as asparagus services and other table-pictures, the earthenware factory created this set of three superimposed plates, intended to offer gastronomes, seafood lovers, thirty oysters on a single display, with the sauceboat on top. These four pieces are in very good condition and bear the hollow marks in the center of the pedestals and under the first cover: LONGCHAMP TERRE DE FER 1228. The Longchamp factory continues to create new shapes and new decorations, with a remarkable sense of modernity and poetry.
