Claude Jouhanneau (1931-2011) devoted sixty years of his life to his art with passion and great energy, always in emotion and sincerity, without compromise, without submitting to anyone the instinctive force of his temperament. His work is situated between that of André Cottavoz - with whom he exhibited in the 60s - and, for certain works, in search of Eugène Leroy, although he rarely dared to go as far as the disappearance of the subject in the material. The subjects - studio window, landscapes, crowds - are often pretexts for a research around color, the vibration of light and material. The painting that I am offering for sale is perfectly in this movement.
