Shelf dimensions: H 72.5 x W 62.5 x D 23 cm, drawer dimensions W 31 x D 64.5 cmGervais-Maximilien Durand was a 19th century Parisian cabinetmaker born in Paris on July 30, 1839[1] and died in Paris 4th on November 26, 1911[2]. He set up shop at 12 rue de la Cerisaie then at 23 rue Beautreillis and finally in the former Hôtel de Sully at 62 rue Saint-Antoine. An exceptional craftsman, he distinguished himself at the 1889 Universal Exhibition for which he won a silver medal. According to the report by A. Picard: "Mr. Durand, a cabinetmaker as skilled as he was modest, exhibited for the first time first-rate furniture, of which he was both the designer and the maker.
