Pair of Louis XV style candlesticks in finely chiseled silver-plated metal, decorated with a coat of arms with a chevron shield and three stars on the foot, straight socket mounted on a moving baluster shaft, round base with contours and moldings, hallmark of Maison Christofle*, from the second half of the 19th century. These candlesticks are in good condition, they have their bobèches. Good quality, they are very decorative. Hallmarked on the foot. Its master goldsmith hallmarks were registered in 1845, the date of the first "silver-plated goldsmith" factory. At the end of the 19th century, Maison Christofle now produced silver-plated metal objects. Emperor Napoleon III ordered all the official dinner services of the Empire from Christofle in 1851. From the second half of the 19th century, Christofle also became the supplier of ministries, embassies, parliaments around the world, but also of luxury hotels, shipping and railway companies, both French and foreign.
