"Pair Of 18th Century Straw Armchairs, Louis XVI Decor, Original Paint"
Pair of 18th-century straw armchairs, preserved in their original paint. All the characteristics of Louis XVI seat decoration are present and carefully treated. The rear uprights, braced bars, and armrests are finely molded. All the fluting on the armrest spindles, front and rear legs, and cross braces are rudentée. The frets are very finely carved. The straw covers feature a sculpted ribbon bow. The straws, of great finesse, are original. The seat cushions are made from a 19th-century quilted blanket. This model is both elegant and representative of the expertise of regional cabinetmakers of the 18th century.
