Here he painted Tiberias and its lake seen towards the East. A rare subject and treated with very beautiful colors here, by an orientalist painter who represented the picturesque sites of the Near East in the 1880s, notably in Egypt (Abu Simbel, Karnak) and Palestine. The painting is dated 1882.
