"Rare Large Wall Clock In Woodwork With A Monumental Frame And Painted Dial, Charles X Period."
A rarity and exception is this large wall-mounted clock from the 19th century, in the Charles X style, first half of the century... In its colossal frame of a large gilded wooden cornice, called a palmette frame, this very large clock works and sounds like a cathedral on the hours and a half thanks to its plate and balance movement. Opening from the front onto a generous solid wood case carefully assembled in dovetail, the painted dial, generous and very white with large Roman numerals for the morning and red and Arabic numerals for the afternoon, has facial winding with the winding holes in the center of the beautiful dial. A rare piece of "curiosity" is this important wall clock, beautiful and with high decorative value, disconcerting by its size (see photo report has a playing card). A decorative piece in more than one way, unique and giving its personality and presence; I have rarely seen such a piece of this imposing size, which places it in the exceptional... Well preserved and beautiful, with a strong and original decoration, which you don't see in your neighbor's; a reasonable price for this beautiful piece
