He worked as an independent craftsman and in the 1950s began making jewelry for Gabrielle Coco Chanel. He also worked for Hermès, Dior, Balenciaga and other big names in fashion. For Chanel he created not only jewelry but also furniture and chandeliers, inventing an incredible repertoire of forms that marked the decorative arts of the 1960s and 1970s, such as the table depicting an ear of wheat. He also collaborated with the Maison Saint-Laurent from the mid-1970s for which he also created numerous pieces of jewelry.
