The set features a detailed scene depicting a traditional Chinese riverside village, inspired by the famous ""Qingming Shanghe Tu"" (清明上河图), a masterpiece of Chinese painting depicting daily life during the Song Dynasty. The vases feature elaborate decoration with bridges, pagodas, processional figures, merchants, and boats, in a dynamic composition that demonstrates the refinement of the Chinese blue and white tradition. The flared neck is highlighted by a stylized floral frieze and features inscriptions in Chinese characters.
