"18th Century Almorratxa"
A beautiful and very rare 18th-century four-hole perfume sprinkler made of blown and tweezer-worked glass, in perfect condition.
Often mistaken for a flower vase, this rare vase, emblematic of Catalan glasswork, is actually a small scented water flask pierced with three to five openings and a very tapered neck. These vases were given as gifts by young men to the girls they invited to dance. The girl held the almorratxa in her hand during the dance and tried to sprinkle the other dancers with scented water.
