"Napoleon III Bird's Eye Maple Jewelry Box"
Jewelry box in speckled maple veneer decorated with mother-of-pearl cabochons surrounded by a chiseled bronze frieze. Lid decorated in its center with a porcelain miniature surrounded by an interlacing pattern, representing the portrait of a woman (note crack in the porcelain). Interior lined with silk with a golden diamond pattern. Box resting on four small ivory feet, complete with its key, lock in working order. Period 19th century. Height 8.5cm Width 15.5cm Depth 11cm
