representing the monument erected in Place Royale in Reims, invented and executed in bronze by Jean Baptiste Pigalle, ordinary sculptor of the King and cast by Pierre Gor.
This monument was destroyed during the Revolution and replaced in 1818 by another effigy of Louis XV designed this one by another sculptor: Pierre Cartellier, famous neo-classical sculptor.
Offered as it is, relined in the past for conservation purposes. Trace of light horizontal folding in the middle, see photos.
