"Antique Beautiful Pair Of Terracotta Avignon Ladies, 19th Century, Canakkale, Türkiye."
These two beautiful ewers, of Turkish origin, are in very good condition, with some minimal rubbing and traces of use. A flower is missing (photo), I have the impression that it is an original defect, without certainty. These terracottas were made in the city of Canakkale. French shipowners who traded with Turkey brought them back to be resold on the Provençal markets. The name "demoiselle d'Avignon" certainly comes from these regional markets. Currently, they are increasingly rare. Heights: 38.5 and 39 cm. Fast, careful and very secure shipping, free for France.
