MIGUEL BERROCAL
"Micro David" jewel – pendant – dismountable sculpture in bronze and solid silver, ca 1980.
Miniature work by the Spanish artist Miguel Berrocal (Opus 120), the Micro David is at the same time jewel, sculpture and stylized puzzle, representing a bust of a naked man composed of interlocking dismountable elements in bronze, male sex in solid silver.
Miguel Berrocal created this 'Opus 120' around 1969 and 1971.
Signature engraved on the right shoulder.

Dimensions of the jewel: 6 x 1.5 x 1.5 cm
Dimensions with its box: 10 x 10 x 3 cm

True to his practice, Berrocal designs this piece as a volume puzzle, composed of several interlocking elements to be assembled and disassembled manually.
This work is part of his research around modularity, movement and the interaction between the work and its spectator.
