In this work, the painter accurately depicts the preparations for a festival, while scattering anecdotal details that underline his belonging to Flanders.Nature is profuse with majestic trees with dense foliage, a river winds through the landscape. In the village square, the inhabitants meet while others arrive aboard small boats.The characters are painted with just a few touches of color. The succession of different shots with dominant green, blue and brown colors leads us to another village at the end of the river with a church and its bell towerGood condition.
