Note: a very similar color etching was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in 1908 (no. 4490: "The wet Love"). We reproduce it in the last photo. The framing is noticeably different (higher and less large at right) and we can notice differences (the sign indicates café (and not café-restaurant), the woman's headdress, the reflections in the water, the sky, ...). It is therefore a painting preparing the engraving exhibited at the 1908 Salon.
