Louis LEYDET (1873-1944) Landscape towards Aix 1891, oil on canvas, 46 x 55 cm, signed, located in "Aix", dated 1891, lower left. On the back of the frame, dedication to Jean Niollon signed by Louis Leydet.Painter born in Aix en Provence, Louis Leydet was very early supported by Paul Cézanne who noticed the quality of his painting very early on. In 1902, in a letter to Charles Camoin he wrote: "I received news from Claude Monet and the card of Louis Leydet, son of the Senator of Aix. The latter is of the same ideas as you and me.
