"Silver-plated Bronze Statuette By Jean Verschneider, 1920s/1930s"
Beautiful silver-plated bronze statuette depicting a young man fighting an eagle presented on its sea green marble base. Work signed by the Lyon sculptor Jean Verschneider (1872-1943) and bearing the stamp of the Parisian founder LNJL (nephews of Jules Lehmann), who produced bronzes in the 1920s/1930s for renowned sculptors such as Demetre Chiparus or Maurice Guiraud-Rivière. Note: the presence of two small screws which were certainly used to fix a plate which is missing. Dimensions: - Height of the statuette without its base: 34cm - Height of the statuette with its base: 39cm - Length of the statuette: 14.5cm - Length of the base: 19.5cm-Weight: 6,8kg.
