Beautiful silver-plated bronze statuette depicting a young man fighting an eagle presented on its sea green marble base. Work signed by the Lyon sculptor Jean Verschneider (1872-1943) and bearing the stamp of the Parisian founder LNJL (nephews of Jules Lehmann), who produced bronzes in the 1920s/1930s for renowned sculptors such as Demetre Chiparus or Maurice Guiraud-Rivière. Note: the presence of two small screws which were certainly used to fix a plate which is missing.
