"Portrait Of Alphonse De La Cherbonnerie By Henry Jeanne-julien"
Beautiful full-length portrait of a notable in his office signed and dated 1846 lower right and dedicated to Mons. Alph. de la Cherbonnerie. Few biographical elements can be found on this artist who died at the age of 30. He was born in 1820, participated in the Salon des Beaux Arts in Paris in 1843 with two portraits and a painting titled The Councils and a Stations of the Cross was purchased by the state from his mother upon her death in 1850. The painting is framed in its original wooden and gilded stucco frame which has some accidents. Without this frame, the painting measures 49x36 cm.
