"Pair Of Bronze Plaques Centaurs Ialie XIX"
Pair of pretty patinated bronze cast plaques representing centaurs playing music, one on the zither and the other on the aulos. The centaur is a half-man, half-horse creature from Greek mythology. Work from the Grand Tour of the 19th century, Italy. Trace of signature at the bottom right. The plaques are 19 by 17. They are presented in pretty Louis XVI style carved wooden frames. The whole set has a most beautiful decorative effect.
