Beautiful pair of mahogany and gilt bronze cane-backed chairs. Openwork backs with caned medallions, pearls, spindles, and knotted ribbons. Rounded seats with curved sides and molded edges. Heart-shaped crosspieces, rosette thimbles. Fluted spindle-shaped front legs with asparagus tips, water-leaf sabots. Sabre-shaped rear legs. Velvet tops. Very good quality, circa 1880.
