Giuseppe Rivaroli, "Macomer - Sardinia," oil on canvas , signed, 1934
In the painting we see a magnificent depiction of rural life in the Sardinian village of Macomer, in the work we see shepherds and oxen in a moment of refreshment or rest.
Dense brushstrokes of color and nuance recall the painting of Giuseppe Biasi da Teulada

From a modest family, he had to endure hardships and sacrifices in order to realize his dream of art.
He was first a pupil of Cesare Tallone and Giuseppe Mentessi at the Brera Academy, then moved on to that of Parma.
His canvases also appeared at the Exhibition of Maritime Art in 1927 and at the Exhibition of Nineteenth-Century Italian Art held in Rome in 1930; others are still owned by noble Italian families and by Italian and foreign personalities in the diplomatic world.
