A student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, he is one of the main representatives of Orientalist painting.
In 1878, under the direction of the master Augusto Rivalta, he enrolled at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence and in 1880 received the silver medal for sculpture from life.
From 1883, he began to frequent the circle of artists in Florence.
A large part of Fabio Fabbi's artistic work is devoted to Orientalism.
However, he did not lack symbolist works, sacred art, and historical works.
He received the title of Knight of the Order of the Crown of Italy for his artistic merits.
In 1937, he left Bologna to settle in Casalecchio di Reno, where he devoted himself to sacred art.
