"Louis XVI Style Bonheur Du Jour"
Pretty little Louis XVI style cylinder desk called "Bonheur du jour" in mahogany with ornamentation of fillets, rods and brass plates striated in scrapers, and Greek pull handles. Top in Red marble of France. The opening of the bottom drawer simultaneously operates the opening of the cylinder. This same drawer, equipped with a lock, conditions by its closure the blocking of the cylinder and the three drawers in the upper part. The open cylinder reveals three small drawers surmounted by a bowl-shaped compartment to receive pens and pencils. The unfolded flap reveals a writing desk, 70x40 cm, covered with black leather in perfect "non-original" condition. The desk rests on four tapered legs with molded brass fluting, bronze rings in the upper part and ending in bronze sabots. Good house condition, Late 19th century.
