"Large Office Crown, 17th Century"
Large 17th century wrought iron parlor crown. Before the widespread use of refrigerators. To keep food out of reach of predators, it was often suspended from the ceiling using devices such as the parlor crown. Also called a 'meat crown', 'game crown', or 'andouille crown', it was used to preserve charcuterie and small game, intended for salting or smoking. Good condition.
