"Art Deco Stoneware Vase By Charles Catteau For Keramis – Model D863a"
Very beautiful glazed stoneware vase by Charles Catteau, made in the 1930s for the Keramis workshops in Belgium. This is the D863A model, identifiable by its brown cloisonné decoration on a background of shades of beige and brown, with a flared black neck. The typically Art Deco design combines organic and geometric shapes, with a beautiful mastery of the glaze. The whole is sober but very graphic. Under the base, we find: the incised Grès Keramis mention, the Keramis stamp - Made in Belgium, the reference of the model D863A, the number 945. The condition is perfect, without chips or cracks, which is quite rare for this type of piece. A beautiful collector's piece, authentic and decorative, signed by one of the great names in 20th century Belgian ceramics.
