Object description :

"Drawing 19th Century. Duke Of Bordeaux"
Beautiful watercolor and gouache drawing from the early 19th century. Circa 1826-27. Depicting the young Duke of Bordeaux accompanied by his governor in an interior from the Charles X era. The young Duke insistently points to the bust of his ancestor Henry IV. A hat lies on the floor. Let us remember that the Duke of Bordeaux is Henry of Artois (1820-1883), Count of Chambord. He could have ascended the throne of France under the name of Henry V. He was the grandson of Charles X. Henry of Artois was the last representative of the elder branch of the Bourbons. This drawing is an interesting legitimist document. The condition is good, apart from some foxing and a slight tear at the bottom of the plate without affecting the drawing itself. Old frame. Framed 48cm X 38 cm. On view 37cm X 28.5 cm
