Bronze representation of the historical Buddha, Shakyamuni, seated in the position of taking the earth to witness (of his victory over Mara). In this example, the quality is attested by the meticulous execution of the flame, the small curls of hair, the elegant and delicate fingers. Bronze with green patina, 19th/20th century.
