OIL ON WOOD AND MIXED TECHNIQUE BY "JEAN BESNARD" 1922-2007 REPRESENTING AN ABSTRACT URBAN LANDSCAPE IN BRIGHT COLORS - MONOGRAMMED ON THE BACK JB AND DATED DECEMBER 1975 - VERY GOOD GENERAL CONDITION - He trained at the Grande Chaumière in Paris. Jean Besnard exhibited at the Galerie du Bac alongside the artists of the Ecole de Paris thanks to Geneviève Degomme who spotted him. He also frequented Paul Rebeyrolle, Jean Hélion and Jean Paul Salomon with whom he shared a studio. He is present in numerous private collections.
