Jean-Baptiste Berré (1777-1839) is a Flemish painter and sculptor. Initially a landscaper and still life painter, he settled in 1808 in Paris, where he became the official animal painter of the Jardin du Roi. His production, composed of farm animals and wild animals studied from nature at the Jardin des Plantes, was collected by wealthy amateurs from all over Europe who appreciated the perfection of his talent of execution.
