"Louis XV Period Sloping Desk."
Elegant mid-sloping desk in rosewood marquetry on fir, the drawer bottoms are in walnut. It opens with a flap onto four compartments, six curved drawers and a secret and contains two external drawers in the belt; the table with four scalloped crosspieces rests on four curved legs ending in sabots. The veneer is open with four butterfly wing leaves for the largest panels. Veneer repairs have been made. The slightly warped flap is difficult to lock. Louis XV period. Circa 1750.
