"18th Century Earthenware Mustard Pot From Maille, Rue Saint André In Paris - 18th Century Mustard Pot "
18th century mustard pot, in high-fired earthenware, with this inscription in manganese - black: "Moutarde de Maille Seul Vinaigrier Du Roy De LMI Rüe St André A Paris". Antoine-Claude Maille opened his first shop in Paris in 1747, rue Saint-André (now rue Saint-André-des-Arts, in the 6th arrondissement). Dimensions: height 11.5 cm - diameter 6.8 cm. Good general condition, without damage to the text (the word Roy was sometimes crossed out during the revolutionary period). There are some chips and a small crack, probably from firing, under the base of the object.
