Lovely Jewelry Or Medal Box In Amboyna Burl, Rosewood, Mother-of-pearl, Marquetry Box

Lovely rectangular box with slightly rounded corners in Amboyna burl and rosewood around the edge. Its lid decorated in its center with a mother-of-pearl motif stylizing a shield is highlighted all around with rosewood. It closes thanks to a push button which works perfectly. It opens onto a beautiful interior covered with a fine purple moiré silk. A fine groove at the back accommodates the beautiful gilded brass hinge thus allowing the perfect vertical hold of the open lid. This is a refined production from the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century. Dimensions: Length: 11.8 cm Width: 9.3 cm Height: 4.1 cm Good condition. Beautiful old patina.
