This was a type of jewelry that began in the 18th century with the Seven Years' War in France , then in 1810 Napoleon offered a set to his second wife, Marie Louise, which of course made this type of jewelry very popular.
These cut steel "Rosaces" are faceted in a Rose cut to imitate Diamonds. They sparkle like and shine as an alternative to Diamonds. The Bandeau/Choker is in fairly good condition considering its age. There is a little rust at the end and one side is a little bent but overall very wearable and not very noticeable once put on.
Rare pièce of jewellery and not easily found !
