"Rodolphe Caillaux Elephant Drawing Painter Basque Country St Jean De Luz Fauvism Animal"
Large drawing of an elephant in graphite or pastel by the painter Rodolphe Caillaux (1904/1989) The painter from Montmartre, known for his international work (numerous works in museums around the world in Asia and elsewhere) had a great impact on the Basque Country, working in the port of Ciboure and having a gallery in St Jean de Luz. He was also very close friends with Achille Zavata, whose portrait and circus he painted. It is likely that this drawing comes from one of these circuses.
