"Part Of A Raynaud Limoges Porcelain Coffee Service, Promenade Au Palais Royal"
Part of a Raynaud Limoges porcelain coffee service, Promenade Au Palais Royal. Including 6 cups and their saucers, two creamers and two sugar bowls. One of the most prestigious services from the Raynaud house in Limoges. The motifs of the labels evoke the morals of the "incroyables" and "marvellous" eccentric youth of Paris under the Directory and are inspired by an engraving by Louis Carrogis known as Carmontelle (1795-1799). All the characters and foliage are enhanced by hand before being painted with colored enamels and powdered with pure gold. Rare set in excellent condition.
