Allegoria Dell'autunno '600
Painting, oil on canvas, measuring 93 x 118 cm without frame and 105 x 130 cm with frame, depicting an allegory of autumn in the style of Gerolamo Bassano ( Bassano del Grappa 1566 - 1621 ).
The canvas depicts an old bearded shepherd and a young man busy shearing five white sheep, a young woman with a dog distributing food to a mother and child with a wooden ladle, while in the background a reaper with helpers is starting to gather sheaves on an oxen-drawn cart.
The landscape setting is very intriguing and together with these warm colours we find a sense of belonging to nature and love for everyday life that gives the viewer serenity and peace.
