"Embroidery With Saint Peter And Saint Paul In An Antique Rectangular Frame, 16th-17th Century"
Pair of circular embroideries, 16th or 17th century, one representing Saint Peter, the other Saint Paul, depicted with their specific attributes, respectively the keys and the sword, on a crimson velvet background, in a beautiful and original old octagonal frame in carved and gilded wood. The old glass also adds to the charm of this very decorative set. Some losses and wear given the obviously fragile nature of these ancient documents that have come down to us. Possibly elements of paramentique. Some losses and wear documented at best. Diameter of the embroideries: approximately 16cm. Frame: 46x37cm.
