Jean Georges Ferry (1851-1926) was a student of Alexandre Cabanel (1823-1889) and then participated in the competition to win the Grand Prix de Rome in 1868 and 1872. He made his debut at the Salon of 1875. The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Laval (Mayenne) and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen (Denmark), among others, hold some of his works. Modern carved and gilded wooden frame (some damage to the frame). Good condition. 1200 euros.
