Shagreen hilt and pommel with chiseled leonine head, gilt bronze mount, guard with two reversed curved quillons. Keyboard engraved with a scallop shell motif. Straight blade with flat back, decorated at the heel with foliage and flower scrolls, enhanced with gold. Round-body swan-necked lock and hammer, gold-bottomed basinet; the barrel, still originally blued, simply lightly cleaned, with sides is decorated en suite.
